FIGHT AGAINST AUTISM

I am putting this post up on my blog.  It’s not my usual content, but I have just learned about this situation.  The Snow Family is related to my wife, and I wanted to pass along an excerpt from their website and get the word out.

THE SNOW FAMILY STORY – taken from http://fightagainstautism.com/

In March 2007 at 2 years of age Josh was diagnosed with Autism. In October of 2007 at 13 months of age Josh’s brother Blake was diagnosed with Autism. Both boys have been treated with a therapy and biomedical program. The cornerstone of their therapy has been Applied Behavioral Analysis (A.B.A.). The A.B.A. therapy combined with SCD and GFCF diet and many nutritional supplements have made significant improvements in both Josh and Blake’s lives.

Josh has gone from no language to a stellar vocabulary, he has overcome several anxieties and inappropriate behaviors that are common in children with Autism. Blake has also made great progress. Josh & Blake have come a long way and is on his road to recovering from Autism, however they still has quite a way to go, Both boys have approximately 18 months left in his ABA program.

Initially Josh’s ABA program was funded by a state agency, but in March 2008 his funding was unjustly cut (Josh’s family just ended a legal battle to have his funding reinstated). The portion of the therapy cost that the parents have to pay, the cost of supplements and medications, medical tests and procedures (all of which are not covered by the family’s health insurance) as well as their legal fees as you can imagine are overwhelming and this family is faced with a financial crisis.

In addition Josh & Blake’s older brother Austin not only has Autism, but also has Traumatic Brain Injury from an automobile accident. With three children with special needs this family truly needs your help. Fight Against Autism has been created as a vehicle to help raise funds for Josh’s ABA Therapy as well as try to bring awareness to Autism and its impact on families.

Josh’s family is currently trying to organize fundraisers, but realize that that Josh needs funds immediately and that donations will be the only way to provide Josh and his family some financial relief right away. You generosity and kindness is truly appreciated by Josh and his family. They thank you for helping Josh with his Fight Against Autism.
